About Power

About Power

There are many of us who question and search, trying somehow to resolve our inner feelings of chaos. You study different philosophies and religions, turning to art, spiritual exercises, prayer and meditation. Sometimes do you think you have it all finally figured out, but then the answers don’t stick. The deeper you go, the more difficult the questions become. The intellectual approach doesn’t resolve anything satisfactorily. You need to find an answer that is complete and final, which puts all the chaos into some kind of order, so you find a teacher, join a class and it feels like the right way to go. Maybe it’s Kototama, Zen, or something else. You spend some time seriously practicing and find yourself expecting immediate enlightenment or the mastery of some special power. This is a mistake. There is a general misunderstanding about exactly this, especially among young people.

No one receives instant enlightenment or power, no matter how serious they are. Some historical records might give this impression, but it just isn’t so. If something like that did happen to you, it would be very dangerous. You shouldn’t expect it.

If we could understand I AM, what it is to be a human being, the manifestation itself of the total universe, it would really be the greatest enlightenment. Nothing can be bigger than the totality; no more magnificent or beautiful.

My Past Way of Budo (M.M. Nakazono,1978)

What is the Kototama Principle?

What is the Kototama Principle?

“The principle of Kototama is the principle of the human life dimension, and the highest human truth. This principle belongs to all human beings; every human has the same capacity.” (The Source of the Present Civilization, 1990).

“It was the Kototama Principle that finally game me the perfect answer. It was the principle of the Messiah; without it, Jesus and Buddha would have been only normal men. The esteem the world holds for them is finally directed to the principle they had within themselves. Their understanding made them who they were, so the reality of Messiah lies within that principle. It’s been hidden in the dogma and symbolism of the worlds’ philosophies, religions and mythologies. When we understand the Kototama we can see that the words and teachings of the great saints were all expressions of this principle.” (My Past Way of Budo, 1978).

“Instead of looking outward at the objects surrounding him, the researcher must look within. He must study his own existence, his own capacities, the very cause of his desire to search. The Kototama Principle is the content of the subject of the universe– it is the source of the subjective capacities of human beings.” (The Source of the Present Civilization, 1990.)

“We can only grasp the final reality of life inside ourselves, by becoming conscious of our own inner sense and of the way in which it synchronizes with the the rhythms of phenomena.”  (The Source of the Present Civilization, 1990.)

Note: O Sensei M.M. Nakazono taught Kototama sound practice as an invaluable method to purify, study, and reflect on one’s own life substance, and place in creation. He designed the Kototama Sound Practice Card, along with practice instructions, for the benefit of those who wish to study and practice the Kototama for themselves.

At his request, these cards are given to each person who receives one of his books. They are also offered on our website here. Inquire about a student practice audio.

We Can Create the Perfect Civilization

We Can Create the Perfect Civilization

The content of our modern knowledge is completely confused. No aspect of society is left intact. Our civilization is rushing along a road that leads to greater and greater sacrifice. If nothing diverts us, we will not stop until all life on the surface of the earth is extinct. It is not enough to try to correct some of the mistakes. The whole outlook of society must be changed.

The only way to reverse the present current is to purify the content of human knowledge. To achieve this, 144,000 people at least, the world over, must study the Kototama Principle. They must grasp it completely and wake up the eye of their inner sources. From this viewpoint, they can reach an absolute confidence in the capacity of humanity as the subject, the creator of the universe.

We created the way of sacrifice, we can also create the perfect civilization.

The Pure “I AM”

The Pure “I AM”

“Perfect synchronization inside and outside…. perfect order coming out. In order to have this you must be able to perfectly synchronize, actually become one with what you are meeting.

So, we must be able to harmonize this way with the a priori world and to manifest that harmony with our a posteriori physical phenomenal world.

Unless we can do this, we can never become the pure I AM; we will never feel complete; we will always be separate from our true self.”

-M.M. Nakazono, November 19, 1875

The Source of Our Being

The Source of Our Being

“Our ancestors are all happy that we are here. We could not exist, physically or spiritually, without the roots from which we’ve sprung; we cannot ignore our physical and spiritual beginnings. Our spiritual ancestors, although not of the physical world, nevertheless materialize in the human body. All material existence was created first in a priori, from the void. This means our physical ancestors passed through the void a million years ago, just as we have today. In the absolute void, there is no time or space.

When you step back far enough into yourself, you will come to the void, having no beginning or end. It is the center of the universe and the self manifests from there to here-now.

Theoretical science recognizes the void as the “center” of the physical universe, yet it is also the source of our own being. If we can recognize who is I AM, we will see our own creation, second by second, manifesting from there to here-now.”

About Kototama Books

About Kototama Books

Our new website is now complete! Kototama Books has been in existence for several decades, preserving and publishing the works of O Sensei M.M. Nakazono and keeping this treasured, ancient knowledge available to the public.

During the summer of 2020, work was undertaken to give Kototama Books an updated website in order to make purchasing an easier experience for the readers. Our continuing Mission is to continue to make this work available around the world.

There are five titles currently available, which the author himself chose for distribution to the public. These books share O Sensei’s depth of understanding and insights gained over a lifetime of deep study, serious practice, and generously teaching in the realms of Aikido, Natural Medicine, and the original life rhythms of the Kototama Principle.

Special thanks is offered to all those who have contributed to the founding and continuation of Kototama Books, in order to preserve the teachings and writings of O Sensei M.M. Nakazono.

Kototama Books would like to particularily thank Dr. Richard Rosenbaum for his work and dedication in setting up the original website, which operated for over two decades under the dedicated care of Brian and Seie Brigham, long time publishers and students of O Sensei’s work. Many dedicated senior students offered their work and support to produce O Sensei’s books over the decades, and special thanks is offered to Sarai Saporta, Nikos Colias, Juliette Bouchery, Scott Gerber, and John Tuttle for their work in the production of O Sensei’s books.

Many senior students themselves became teachers and have passed on the legacy of Kototama Life Medicine/Inochi Life Therapy, Aikido, and Kototama Sound Practice to hundreds of students around the world. To each of them, too many to name, the deepest recognition and heartfelt gratitude for their vision, dedication, and real accomplishment in preserving the way of O Sensei’s mission and teachings. To everyone who has participated as a teacher, a student, a patient, or a reader, thank you very much.

There have also been many generous hearted, talented people who have worked diligently to translate the works of O Sensei into languages around the world in order to make these precious teachings available to the peoples of all the world. Some titles were translated into Spanish and French. Currently all the books are being translated into German, with deep thanks to Mr. Pierre Kynast. Other translations are underway in Hungarian as well. To all those who typed, organized, translated, published, and volunteered their work, you are deeply appreciated. Thank you.

Finally, a special note of gratitude for Sensei J. Akehiko Tavernier and Madam Marie Hime Berrou, and the students in France for carrying on O Sensei’s mission in France, and making his works available in French and Spanish.

In the words of O Sensei at the final Jizo Bosatsu monthly ceremony of gratitude for our physical and spiritual ancestors, “Keep your good health, healthy spirit, and happy daily life please. Wherever I go, I pray for that.”
